Leo used the Potty - #ProudDad

So I went to pick Leo up from daycare and found out he used the potty today. The class or group he’s in is all older kids then Leo and most of them use the potty so we figured it was only a matter of time before he tried it.

The funny thing is that we’re just at Leo’s 18 month checkup this week and our Dr. said he wouldn’t try and push it for another year!!

A City Loses its Identity → dl.dropbox.com

A well written PDF

thatwhichsurroundsme:

This was written by  friend of mine.  He is a graduate student in Architecture at KU.  He is from South Carolina.  From someone with no connection to the city’s past, it presents its self in an unbiased documentary of historical planning initiatives of downtown Topeka.  Interesting to note that, take the dates away, this could be written about the present.  It could not be more timely, lest we repeat the same mistakes.

The wife and kid are out, time to get some work done.

I moved my computer back in the office and have the work station up and running. This is where I’ll be unless someone calls me with a beer. ;)

neck cramps

hopefully I don’t have a stiff neck all this week, at least it’s on the right hand side, vs the left hand side that was bothering me all last week.

Not a great thing to have when your job is to look at a computer screen all day!

How I see it...: Social Experiment (Map) by @Manspeaker  → colincurtis.tumblr.com

So I do like the effort finding the stores and would like to see them open back up for those neighborhoods that need them but..

It seems like a bit of a stab at ThankBigTopeka, and maybe it isn’t, but that’s how I took it after reading over it once.

Although the interesting thing is “think big” could be replaced with almost any positive movement in Topeka. “Re Think” “New Topeka” even “Transform Topeka”.

I would be interested to see what could be done to help bring those stores back, does anyone have an ideas or connections, someone that could be talked to?

Ofcourse we want every part of Topeka to be successful, no matter what part you live in.

colincurtis:

So tonight I was on the phone with @Manspeaker while he drove around the city making stops at grocery stores, sad excuses for grocery stores and closed grocery stores. Why you ask? Because if we want any hope of moving Topeka forward or “thinking big” about it then we have to deal with real…
